Osaka Trip summary

So, after promising to bring Moon to Japan for our Honeymoon and then delaying it for almost 4 years, we finally made it to Japan this year! WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

Long story short on the circumstances of our honeymoon delay, we finally made the jump early this year by purchasing our flight tix with Airasia when the prices were pretty good. We booked the tickets some time in February 2012 , departing flight on the 29th of October, returning on the 7th of November 2012. A good 8 months in advance.... Well worth the wait I would say... Well, there's tonnes of things I have to say, but let's leave that for later on...

Over the coming weeks, I will be detailing out our entire experience, complete with photographs, itinerary, budget, cost breakdown, more photographs, tips, guides, lessons learnt and even more photographs, for anyone and everyone's reference.

For the time being, I'd like to just give a quick summary on the trip & costs (these were some of the number one questions raised by buddies).

Well, we had an AWESOME time in Japan. It was everything we expected and more! The weather was just great (Cooling enough for us to wear more clothes than normal, but not that cold that we had to buy proper winter clothing)...

For anyone who hasn't been to Japan, if you have the opportunity to go, GO! It is well worth every penny, every minute of waiting, every effort in planning and preparation.

As for costs, I have to admit, we were lucky on a few fronts, i.e. Airasia (So we saved on flight tickets), Accommodation costs (we managed to get a pretty decent place for dirt cheap), we didn't really go on too much of a spending spree, Osaka (I believe) is generally a cheaper holiday than say Tokyo or Hokaido, and we stuck to Osaka and a few neighbouring provinces, not venturing much further (It was a conscious decision we made to spend more time in one location rather than rush through a few).

Also Self planning isn't really that difficult. As I found out first hand, there's tonnes of resources on Japan available in English, and specifically to assist tourist with their planning. The subways are extremely efficient (heck, everyone and almost everything in Japan is efficient).

I'm gonna close off this entry with the overall spending for this trip.(The figures are roughly rounded to RM100)

  • Flight Costs (To & Fro X 2 person): RM1,800
  • Accommodations (9 nights at Osaka + 1 night at Kyoto): RM1,700
  • Transport in Japan : RM 1,300
  • Food : RM2,100
  • Entrance Fees : RM800
  • Buying Stuff : RM4,000
Overall total : RM11,700
For 10 Days, 9 Nights, For 2 people, inclusive all meals, transport, entrance fees, and buying stuff.

If I minus the buying stuff, it's only RM7,700 FOR TWO PEOPLE!!! Self planning really saves you a ton of money!

Will provide the breakdown & then my itinerary soon! Cheers people!

What the??

How do you feel once you've seen the picture above??

For me, I feel that the family members are just wreckless... its bad enough that mamak tables are not exactly clean, but also its just the way the child is just left on the table... without any safety harness, or soemthing.. and the bottle of chilli sauce?? a little kick... thats all it takes...

Aiyo... what kind of a world do we live in lah...

Japan Team

I love football.. I love watching it, I love playing it.. It's probably the only reason why I haven't hit 100kgs yet...
Its probably why I managed to still get hold of Moon and trick her into lifetime partnership with me.. hehehe..

I've had many football teams in my life... and here's a quick photo chronology of it...

My first team, from Secondary School days, was Anthonian All Stars... my classmates, and each of them have gone their own ways... we'll leave that to another post....

At College, I was quick to join the football team, and was truly lucky to join such an international team... Kenyan's, Nigerian's, Oman, Shanghainese, and local...
Then at college, and another team.. Sedaya All Stars (yes, we were obsessed with the All Stars name.. haha).. @ Sedayan Wolves...

After college, I was relegated to playing mainly futsal, since it wasn't easy for me to find friends to make up a full football team.. but, once I met Moon, my life changed.. I joined her brothers (whom now I can officially call my brothers too! hehe), in Revolution FC...

It went well for about 1-1 1/2 years.. but then the team fell apart.. politics and backstabbing.. so, the team was disbanded, and the captain eventually started a spinoff team which, sadly (for him), he didn't invite me.. cheh...

In between, I did have a stint with my company team, the company at that time was Transmile Air Services.

So, my brothers started off another team (after I had not touched a full field football for almost half a year), with their school mates, and now its running almost full steam ahead...

We've had a run this year, mainly wins, a few draws, and even fewer losses.. :) For more details, head on over to http://www.japanteam00.blogspot.com/

Many many little things...

Well, just a little update on whats been happening in my life recently...

I've moved in to the house (i know i mentioned it a few times already), and I will be putting up some photos and posts soon, especially also on some of the house warming sessions that I've had already with the band, my neighbours, Moon's friends & relatives, my family & also my hometown buddies...

Also, I was really damn busy from February all the way till last month, doing the whole Performance Appraisal exercise, Bell Curve moderation & force ranking, Increment/Bonus exercise, Promotion exercise, and etc etc from over 7000 staff of Ambank..... so, yeah, I was really busy, and for the record, I even pulled in 18hours in the office straight during that time... which is mainly why I didn't have more time for the blog, my emails, etc...

I've missed out on Futsal for almost a year now, since my most recent futsal kaki geng moved their operations over to Petaling Jaya, but today (coincidentally), i wil be rejoining them at PJ, since now they will be playing longer and its more worth my while (going through the jam and distance...)..

Oh, and I've getting fatter... thats no surprise. I'm maintaining my average 3KG per year increase... I'm about 0.6kg from hitting 90kgs... no joke... its now become a serious matter.. my new resolution, to get my weight back down to 80 by year end... thats 2 kgs per month... i duno if i can, but thats what targets are for.. obviously, if i can hit 60% achievement, thats good enough for now... thats still 6 KGs off me... tell me thats not an achievement... Mary France & May Fair would be proud of me...

Also, I've just come back from a 1 & 1/2 week break... took 8days off to be with Moon during her annual block leave... So, we spent a few days at Genting with my Parents, and then went back to Teluk Intan from 4 days, with a short trip to Kampar in between...

all these I will story more in individual posts, and among other things I will be posting include,

  1. Inverted Coma's first Single - Miracles (the recording & the 1st debut)
  2. Inverted Coma's Follow up Single - The Nudist Song (Recording stage)
  3. Inverted Çoma's Photo Shoot w Ben
  4. Japan Team (Football, my team)
  5. Burger....
  6. Chocolate Cheese Cake...
  7. P1
  8. Giant
  9. Old Town Kopitiam
  10. Closure of tioman Trip
  11. Cameron Highlands
  12. Others...

hehe... enough for now gua?? hahaha...

My God awful response

Waakakkaka..

yes.. i know.. i suck at updating... thanks doreen, thanks Nat.. for informing me..hahahaha..

So, just to make our lives more miserable... I'm going to try to update again..hahahhaa..

But, I have been seriously contemplating to just upload photos of stuff on facebook, and close this blog... afterall, i suck at updating, right? hahaha.. and its always more fun to see pictures..hahaha..

and too many hahahahas get boring.. right?? hahaha..

Or should I maintain this blog just for the fun of it.. i feel soooo guilty if i don't entertain my 3 fans...

hahaha...
how lah dei... I got stories, I got imagination, I got talent.. but I don't got time... apamacam?

Oh, and in other developments... Inverted Coma's debut single "Miracles", has hit the Campur Charts on Fly FM, debutting at #10. Lets see how it goes from here on...

Pulau "Penang"

For Our (Moon and Me) block leave, which was to last for 10 days, we decided to spend a few days out of KL, namely to Penang and back home to Teluk Intan…And, in the usual Horny Bassist style, it would b a 5 page story… haha.. but, let’s just get to some of the highlights of the trip…

At the start of the journey, we stopped at one of the rests stops for breakfast.. .and we noticed these carriers..

haha.. guess what they’re carrying…

Goats!!!
Hahaha…Bet you never knew that did ya…
Next, we hit another stop after driving for another 2 hours… I can’t quite recall which stop it is, but its got an escalator!! Damnit.. I don’t even know why I’m so fascinated with it. Haha.. But having an escalator really got me excited…I had to ride it up and down a couple of times.. hehe…
Also, I don’t know whats the history of this, but that stop really doesn’t like dogs.. otherwise they wouldn’t have this sign there…

and man.. its huge (the sign, or me, whichever you prefer to think of first..hehe.... hehe)…
The sign is probably bigger than most other road safety signs I’ve seen…
In Penang, we were joined by Vincent Lee, my child hood friend from Teluk Intan..

We had lunch at New World Park, apparently the new happening makan place at Penang… not bad… clean, lots of options, and we discovered one thing.. the meals there are in rather small servings, so you can other more stuff, without having to eat too much of one thing… hehe…
Oh, and this shop got me and moon confused for a moment.... Kuay Teow "Thing"?? What Thing?? huh?? Whats in the Kuay Teow you say?? A Thing?? haha... actually, most other shops would use Kuay Teow Th'ng... haha... talk about a bad case of typo errors...haha..

We also stopped by this Bakery, which Vincent mentioned was also famous & popular among the locals… hehe..

I couldn’t resist getting this bun…

My curiousity absolutely got me.. the name of the bun? German Longan Wolfsberry…hahaha
I was disappointed to discover that there weren’t any Germans or Wolfs in the bun.. just longan & berries.hahaha…

We checked in at the Northam Hotel, a business hotel, nice, spacious rooms, which isn’t expensive by KL standards, but maybe by penang standards, a tad little expensive perhaps? I paid RM299 for the night.. one living room, free internet, two toilets, a bedroom, and the highlight of the room? A Jacuzzi.. hehe…
The view from the room is also pretty good.. sea view.. with me ghost in the window...
In the afternoon, we went to Kek Lok Si, where we had some laksa (apparently the best in Penang.. haha).. nice nice… then at Kek Lok Si we were just tired out already…
Unfortunately, the famous Kuan Yin statue was currently under maintenance, so what we got was a full metal armour Kuan Yin.. Cool...and here are the famous tortoises of Kek Lok Si....
Me, doggie style.... (nyek nyek)
And more tortoises..
Went back, rest, and at night went to Gurney Drive by foot (its about 20 minutes from the hotel)… Didn’t take any pictures though.. just had some random hawker food..
As we aren’t quite familiar with the roads there, and moon wasn’t feeling too well, we left right after lunch the next day…Overall, Penang, great place for food lovers, but hate the roads & jam & drivers… hahaha

Hepi Burfday to Me

In most of my life, and Im most people would’ve also experienced this at one point of their lives as well, I’ve always dreamt of getting free stuff… y’know, like winning some lucky draw, free gifts for participation, or heck, just some reward for great performance over the fiscal year.. hehehe…

Aside from presents & stuff which my parents & two brothers have bought for me (which the list is pretty long), then I can only think of this Thompson Mini Hi-Fi which I won through a lucky draw back in Marcus Evans (it was the 3rd biggest prize, and its pretty good, so I was pretty darn happy)… but besides that, nope… zilch… Zero…

But already, in the short span of time that I’ve been with Moon, she’s already done it three times (excluding of the naughty stuff)… The most recent, was for my birthday…

This

is the Canon IXUS 870 IS…the latest in Canon’s wide arsenal of point & shoot cameras…. Utilizing DIGIC 4 processor, 10 megapixel, 4X zoom & a whole lot of little functions to take great pictures which you can later view on its big 3 inch screen..

I am sooooo Happy… exhilarated, explosive… I’ve always wanted to get a nice camera... most of you who know me personally (actually, all of you do.. I don’t have many readers anyway>..) know that I’m a cam whore, and I upgrade my phone pretty often to get better camera phones.. hehe…my current phone is pretty good also (Nokia N82), but it all loses to the power of a true camera…

Here are some pics of my birthday celebration with my new extended family…

Also, many thanks to all my friends, colleagues, buddies, acquaintances who wished me on that day… Ah Piau, Shir Leng, Bar, Vincent, Lisa Goh, Hazel, Ridzman, Lin, Tamil, Jason Thean, David Owen, Inverted Coma, Lawrence, Natalie Tan, and many many more….
Compared to last ( I believe only Ah Piau wished me on time.. haha)… this year has experienced a 100,000% increase on birthday wishes!
Its been a good Birthday… I must’ve done some good stuff this year to deserve such good karma…
Have you ever seen a happier Hornier Horny Bassist ever? Cheers!

Speak with horrible english...

Yeah... I'm qouting from Kanasai's website http://jaythean.com/?p=719 ... hehe.. but for the record, I was there with him when we noticed the poster...
Hahahaha... only one basic that can helps us... ahhaha..

Following his comments, he missed one, cause he's not as horny as me.. haha..
Take note of Berita Harian's rating..

4 star? That means there'll be boobie action as well in the training & pictures in the book, but most likely no close ups on "poo-na-nies"..... hehhe....

Yes... I am that Hornifying...
